Smoke Alert for NANNUP, JARRAHWOOD and surrounding areas in the SHIRE OF NANNUP and CITY OF BUSSELTON
A Smoke Alert has been issued for people in areas between and surrounding NANNUP and JARRAHWOOD in the SHIRE OF NANNUP and CITY OF BUSSELTON.
Motorists travelling on Vasse Highway between Nannup and Jarrahwood are advised smoke may impact visibility. Please drive to conditions.
The smoke is the result of Parks and Wildlife Service prescribed burning being carried out in the area.
The smoke is expected to clear throughout the day tomorrow.
WHAT TO DO
- Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
- If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
- People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
- If affected by smoke contact your doctor or call 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422).
- Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
