Smoke Alert for parts of MUNDARING and SAWYERS VALLEY in the SHIRE OF MUNDARING
A Smoke Alert has been issued for people in the townsite of MUNDARING, SAWYERS VALLEY and surrounds in the SHIRE OF MUNDARING. The smoke is the result of a Parks and Wildlife Service prescribed burning being carried out in the area. Motorists are asked to drive to the conditions and follow traffic management signage that is in place. The smoke is expected to clear by Monday morning.
WHAT TO DO
- Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
- If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
- People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
- If affected by smoke contact your doctor or call 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422).
- Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

Motorists are asked to reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
KEEP UP TO DATE
During a power outage, your home phone, computer or other electronic devices connected to the NBN will not work. Include a battery powered radio in your emergency kit.
