Smoke Alert for areas between LANDSDALE and ELLENBROOK and surrounding areas in the CITY of SWAN and CITY OF WANNEROO
A Smoke Alert has been issued for people in areas between LANDSDALE and ELLENBROOK and surrounding areas in the CITY of SWAN and CITY OF WANNEROO.
Smoke may be visible for people travelling along Gnangara Road and Tonkin Highway and road users should drive to the conditions.
The smoke is the result of a Parks and Wildlife Service prescribed burn being carried out 5km east of Ellenbrook.
The smoke is expected to clear overnight.
WHAT TO DO
- Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
- If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
- People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
- If affected by smoke contact your doctor or call 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422).
- Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
