Hazmat General Warning - HAZMAT Fire in SOUTH HEDLAND in the TOWN OF PORT HEDLAND
ALERT LEVEL
There is a HAZMAT Fire at the South Hedland Waste Facility TOWN OF PORT HEDLAND.
A fire involving general mixed waste at the South Hedland Waste Facility is producing potentially dangerous smoke.

Smoke is blowing across parts of South Hedland, Wedgefield, Port Hedland, Pippingarra and Boodarie, including Bosna, in the TOWN OF PORT HEDLAND.
WHAT TO DO
- As a precautionary measure, people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed. Air conditioners should also be switched off.
- People should stay away from the area. If you are already in the area take advice from emergency services personnel.
- People with medical concerns should contact their local doctor or call 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422).
ROAD CLOSURES AND CONDITIONS
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
